Ayurvedic Concept of Bladder Cancer Surgery
Ayurveda is a natural healing process that has no side effects on the human body. Cancer is known as “Arbuda” in Ayurveda. Cancer begins in the cells, and it is the mass and lumps of the cancer cells that grow fast and rapidly take the shape of the tumor. In the Ayurveda, the main reasons behind the cancer are vitiated Kapha, Vatadosha, and pitta.
There are also some other factors like Agni or biological fire, Saptadhatu or body tissues, Srotamsi or the body’s channels, and Satkriyakala or the involvement of genetic sequence. Modern therapies like bladder cancer chemotherapy and radical cystectomy kill all the cancer cells, but it also kills the healthy cells surrounding in the body. That can cause serious health issues later in the future. But in Ayurveda, there are no such effects on the human body.
Ayurveda has been a foundation stone of many healing techniques around the world. There is no ayurvedic medicine for urinary bladder cancer but allopathy fails to provide that too. The less harsh methods of Ayurveda can help one to heal the body and soul.
Ayurvedic Treatment for Bladder Cancer
Bladder cancer treatment by conventional medication can complement Ayurveda, especially with Panchakarma therapy, which is used to detoxify the body. Detoxification can be completed using ayurvedic therapies.
Mentioned below are ayurvedic therapies helpful in the treatment of bladder cancer:
Snehana therapy is a kind of oil massage. It is one of the most critical procedures that prepare the body for panchakarma treatment. It involves applying medicated oils, ghee, and herbs to the human body both internally and externally for almost a week. This Snehana treatment is mainly divided into two parts:
- Bahya (External) Snehana
- Abhyantara (Internal) Snehana
Swedana is a steaming therapy
Sweden is passive heat therapy. It uses a closed steam chamber with a retractable lid inside which the patients are placed in a head out position. They are then warmed with the steam impregnated using the Ayurvedic decoction flowing into the steam chamber. This procedure takes place for a few minutes every day after the Snehana therapy.
Vamana is done by urging vomiting for the patient.
Vamana karma is also known as medical emesis or vomiting. Generally, the therapy occurs in the early morning on an empty stomach when the Kapha is intense. A night before the Vamana, Kapha aggravating food is provided to the patient. On the day after treatment, depending on the patient’s condition, heat is applied on the chest and back to liquefy the Kapha.
Virechana is done by purging
Virechana is a controlled procedure that assembles all the ama and toxins out of the body by concentrating them in a small intestine and eliminates them.
Basti which is an enema medication
In the Basti karma therapy, the medicated oil and herbal decoction is administered through the anal route.
Nasya is done through nasal medication
Nasa means nose. Medications that are done through the nasal passages affect the mind. In this therapy, the medicated oils, ghee, decoction, etc., are administered by nasal essentially to remove the dosha found inside the Shira and its parts.
Raktamokshana
Raktamokshana is an effective therapy for blood purification. In this therapy, the blood is removed in small quantities carefully from the body in a controlled environment. According to various Ayurveda experts, many diseases are blood born, so by purifying the blood, they can be cured.
Alongside all the therapies mentioned earlier, there are also few things that a person can do to cure his body of bladder cancer, like consuming medicated juices that are suitable for the body. Practicing yoga can also be helpful for health.
Conclusion
Bladder cancer is a serious disease and if diagnosed in time, life can be saved. The millennium’s old science of Ayurveda can effectively treat the disease with lesser harm to the body. Immunotherapy for bladder cancer has also proven to be effective and reliable for many people, but more research on that needs to be done. Always know that good health is the best gift you can give to yourself so always try to stay healthy and go through regular general checkups.
